It won’t often be deemed the sexiest game in the field of gambling, but keno has massive amounts of dedicated admirers. As well it should! It’s a routinely exciting lottery-esque game that’s a snap to play, readily available in lots of alternate styles, and one that can pay out millions for gamblers who learn its heaps of subtle nuances. But let’s begin with the basic facts for now.
When explaining keno to amateurs, some gambling connoisseurs compare it to bingo. This is at least to a certain degree correct, in that both games are generally numerical. However, to take that comparison too far will be to underrate the many unique characteristics that make keno so compelling. Unlike bingo, keno gamblers have the power to select the numbers for each card.
Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the gambler is accord an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to select as many (or as few) numbers as he or she needs. And it doesn’t take a genius to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your picked numbers with a good oldpen like you used when you were in grade 3.
After you’ve picked your numbers, carry the game card back to the clerk at the keno booth. The person will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers you and would like to help out, without a winning ticket on you, you will collect exactly $.00 for your efforts.
And there you have strategy #1: always be sure to keep your keno slip. Let’s advance to something a little more complex, shall we?
Once you’ve picked out your numbers, get yourself into a nice keno booth and observe the action take place on a video monitor. That is where the winning numbers show up for all to see. If you have winners, mark your card aptly. Sake care not to take your time, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You really want to get up to the keno booth to collect your winnings, and then a new drawing will most likely start up within five minutes.
Strategy #2: always get back to the keno stand on time!
Since you can not trust yourself to make that 5 minute deadline each time, you always have the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from two to twenty tickets. When the max amount of rounds (the same as the number of tickets) is played, you are then able to get off your numb bum and go collect your winnings.
Yet an additional alternative is known as a "stray and play" keno card, which generally allows you make number choices for thirty rounds or more. Gosh, you can take all the time in the world and not have to worry about getting back in time to get your numbers. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after it’s bought!
So now you are aware of a few indispensable strategies for winning keno. If you are an experienced gambler, they may appear to be quite obvious. Still, it does not hurt to study up on the basic tactics, and if you are a newbie player, every tiny bit of advice will help make your keno games more fun.
